Is my roost okay or did I screw up?

Sand is not the greatest idea for people in the Northeast because it is sooooo cold on the chickens' feeties in winter, plus under some circumstances will freeze.

serenityNH, you are just a hop and a skip from me. I bought a 12' x 12' scrap of vinly flooring at Home Depot that makes clean up so easy. I had enough to put on the poop board. Sprinkle some shavings under there and it just slides off.

I picked up a roll of glossy contact paper at the Habitat for Humanity Restore that I couldn't resist (it had roosters on it) I didn't know what to do with it but maybe I could put it on the poop boards? I wonder if that would make it any easier to clean? The vinyl flooring is a great idea though.

I'm going to our Restore tomorrow, hoping to find a used counter top to put under our roost for a dropping board, I'm planning on building a roost just like yours across one wall of our coop. Your coop is beautiful!
