Is plain apple cider vinegar ok to use.

@i love eggs , how does the garlic help them? I've seen another couple posts around the web saying they give garlic to them but I don't know why.

@dikbiscuit well I've had chickens for one week now so I'm just gathering all the info I can and using what seems like good logic. As I understand it many believe it will help thier immune system and make them less attractive to mites. Small amount won't hurt them so I figured why not.

@i love eggs, if it makes them less attractive to mites and boosts their immune system then I'd consider it. Only a teeny bit though as I don't want to have garlic-y eggs (as drumstick diva mentioned.)

How much would be too much per chook? 1 clove for the whole flock?

Garlic may be effective in worming mice, however I doubt seriously that garlic that garlic removes worms from chickens.

This site is full of threads that are pleading for help for their sick hens that have been treated with natural wormers.....

I agree. I use it as a preventative measure. If I had an infestation, I would most likely use a chemical wormer. I've only done so once in my life, however.

On the other hand, if something is effective against a parasite, the host doesn't matter.
