I will try to get some better pictures. It starting pouring on me and I was chasing the chickens around like a crazy person. Lol

Sorry, that's a cockerel.

Unless you've got neighbors really close, maybe a no crow collar would help you be able to keep him. They don't stop cockerels from crowing, they just make it quieter. However, they can be risky.

Oh man! I was wondering about those collars. Unfortunately I don't think that will work for us, we have neighbors pretty close to us and we are not allowed roosters in our town. Thanks for your input.
 
Gender differentiated saddle and hackle feathers and sickle tail feathers will not be present for a few more weeks, but this is a male
I keep looking for saddle feathers and hope they don't come in. I guess I will just hold on to this one as long as I can. I never knew I could get so attached.
 
Well......... She's a He!!! He started crowing yesterday. Any advice on how to re home this handsome fella??
