Your chicks are barely three weeks, am I right? Size and feather color and pattern, and even behavior at this age doesn't mean diddly.
But here's what you can watch for. After age four weeks, watch for any color change in the comb. It may appear orange, tipping toward red-orange. Look for the same color in emerging wattles that the others are lacking. Pullet combs remain very pale pink or pale pinkish beige color until point of lay.
By six weeks, you will know if you have any cockerels. The comb will be nearly red, and wattles will be very obvious. Cockerel feathering doesn't show up until eight to ten weeks. Look for vivid colors more than feather shape. You may start to see signs of curved sickle feathers buried in the tail feathers.
