Is she broody?

I hope it all works out.

She wanted nothing to do with the hen scratch/layena this morning so, I fed her some oats as a treat and, she was ravenous!! I don't know if she's had water but I'm gonna make sure she gets some.
She gets REALLY mad when I go in the coop, growling and shrieking. She didn't do that before so I think she is sincerely broody.

I can even open the coop door and feed my other silkies bread and fruit and she won't come out. Where as before she would come shooting out of the nest at top speed.
Thank for all your help!

Oh since I thought she wasn't broody anymore I let her back in with the rest of of the flock. So she is now sitting in the main coop.
She doesn't seem to be bothered by the other Silkies (they don't lay eggs yet so there is no competition for nest boxes), so I think I'm just gonna leave her in there.

hey silkiesforever she is broody or she is just taking REALLY long to lay and egg get back to me thx.

I picked her up and took her out of the coop in the dirt bathing spot and, she laid down and started bathing right away. Then after like....5 minutes she got up and started walking back in the direction of the coop dragging her wings and cheeping/clucking away! Then she stopped, looked up, and shot off at top speed to the coop! Settled down and sat on the nest again.
She is one funny mama.

I'm thinking if she continues to sit then I might just put the fertile eggs under her sooner than planed.....

She sounds very broody. Maybe you should put the eggs under her just before they are due to hatch. Then she can hatch them?

I think thats probably what I'm gonna do. :) ........Yeah she is definitely broody.
