Okey, Rule number one when being involved with somethin as natural as this. Let nature do its thing. Donw worry, at all. Just let her and the eggs be. Ignore her even. She will do what she wants. She knows more about the eggs then you do. So just let her be. If they hatch. Awesome. If not. Oh well.
We take ours out and put them in a 2 by 2 foot brooder pen. And move em around the yard. Just lettin them do their thing.
Thank you firestrike09, I know I have to leave her alone and let mama do her thing.
I have to practice self control.
I didn't come home with any chicks yesterday, surprisingly.
I went out to the coop this morning and Minnie was standing up in the nest so I took that opportunity to look under her, and guess what I found.......a pipped egg!!!!!
The baby has pipped through the shell but not the white coating (membrane?) so I'm a little concerned, but I know that mama knows what to do.
I don't see the babies beak so I'm assuming it is still running on the air pocket oxygen? I really don't know how that works.
If there is anything I should do before the baby hatches let me know, I need all the help I can get.
