I haven't been counting but maybe 7-9 weeks? i got them a week or 2 before Easter.@Duck_life How old is Bella and the other females?
Thank you. i put the drake away and i provided bella with some bedding to lay on after soaking her foot in epsom salt for 10 minutes, she has own access to food, the question is, can we overcome this? (the drake is in a run cope for the females to see him but not go by him)Absolutely protect her from the drake. She has been flat out abused. Watch carefully that flies do not lay eggs on her leading to fly strike. She needs high quality feed and protection from the drake and flies. Drakes should not be allowed access to immature ducklings when this sort of behavior starts.
He is the same age as the girls, i took action the first time but he stopped eating and was very dehydrated till back with the females, now that bella is pretty much limp i separated him at hope this won't happen again, he is doing fine now but bella is not, i am sorry this is so upsetting as it is to me also, i am just not experianced with muscovies even after 2 months of research i never expected this to happen.. any other tipsare great. And your drake has been mating with her and the others? Female ducklings should never be in with a mature drake until of laying age 4-5 months of age but Muscovy's I have ever had were over 8 months old before any mating or egg laying went on. Is your drake a Muscovy? How old is the drake? I am not wanting to hurt you but to let this go on till she looks like this is upsetting to me and others on here. Your female Muscovy Bless her heart has endured severe abuse.
