This is the back end of my brahma lucky. She's a year old and seems fine. She has had poop stuck to her butt for about a month, which weighs down her back end. She's been in the rain all day so her wet feathers are showing more of her skin. She's a big bird
so it's hard to tell if her butt is supposed to be that big or if something is wrong. She's been laying eggs, and she layed one today. When she runs her butt bops up and down it's so big. What should I do? Is this they way she is built?
she's not used to being touched and I would have to cage my rooster to keep from getting attacked.

Thanks

That definitely looks odd. I'm not sure how to help though. Has she been that way for a long time? Hope that she's better soon!
Thanks!

You need to cage the rooster and get your hands on that hen -- bathe her to remove the built up waste and then you can assess what is beneath it and identify any possible issues. It may be as simple as she got a little stuck and that lead to the accumulation as more waste passed over the initial bit - but it has been allowed to progress to the point of being a potentially serious issue for her at this point.

I grabbed her an ran and put her in a warm tub of water and got the poop off of her bottom. Her vent looks ok, from what I can tell. It's not red, it's just pink and the skin around it is pink. It just looks like a big softball hanging from her as her butt (under her vent). It could just be her anatomy I have no idea. My little cream legbar is a much smaller chicken so I have nothing to compare.
She's such a big bird and she has always been bottom heavy like that. She took off before I could blow-dry her butt but it's in the 50's here and she has been out in the rain all day and a little wet.
