Is there a Difference Between Easter Egger and an Ameracauna???

if people were willing to answer the questions and not get frusterated with people asking the questions over and over again people probably wouldnt be so confused

Theres newbies joining bYC all the time...it's completely understandable.

EEs are pretty much any bird that doesnt conform to the Ameraucana standard of perfection as in color of plumage and egg color.

I completley understand why it's so confusing to newbies I was there once myself...now it's easy to tell.

Some EEs have green legs and this is another way to tell, if they have green legs no matter what (even if someone said they are Amers.) they are EEs.

EEs can lay any range of colors, from blue to green to pink to brown.

Amers are supposed to only lay blue tinted eggs

Be forwarned newbies.. its Ameraucana <---the spelling.

When I said this, I was referring to conversations that we've had that seem to go round and round, not necessarily the new people asking the question for the first time. I've answered this same question so many times, just like I've answered the Barred Rock sexing question a bunch of times. Just remember, a picture really is worth a thousand words... compare pics of a true Araucana (from a breeder like hinkjc) and a true Ameraucana and read the standard for Ameraucanas. Then, I think it will become more clear to some.

Thank You All for your responses.

It appears I will not be able to get either one, as they are far and few of either here on Long Island (chicks or adult hens) at least that I can see, and even the hatcheries are not shipping chicks until June/July. (There seems to be a "CHICKEN BOOM") I also have a limit of 8 hens in my town(and I have 4 already), so they will not sell 4 to me anyway. The winters are fairly cold and I don't want to start with chicks too late in the season. I can always try again next spring and then try to intergrate them.

I have true ameraucanas in my incubator I was given to hatch and resell from friends. I do vent sex my chicks at hatching. I have one person who wants 1-2 hens to add some color to his flock if I have any other pullets hatched though I'd be happy to send some your way dunno where you are exactly but just thought i'd offer
