I've tried searching for a thread showing the different colours and their names with pics but haven't had any luck so hope it's okay to add my question here. I have 4 8week olds all with colouring like this with the two tone feathers.

I would love to know what you call that sort of colouring?? They are all like this with the dark spots on the ends of the feathers though this is our most golden one, the others are a lighter gold and more a reddish brown and then the black one actually has gold tips.

is there a name for this sort of colouring?
. Or are they just mongrels lol

The bird is a partridge sizzle. The partridge markings are not really up to standard, nor is the colouring, which it too dilute. That said, it is about what one would expect from a sizzle, You really cannot tell the quality of penciling on silkied feathers, and so the lack of that carries through to the sizzle.

I am not saying the bird is not cute. She is, but does not have the best quality of partridge plumage. She is nothing like gold laced; this is gold laced:

Thank you all!!! Been trying to work it out since we got them :)

Have to say that gold laced is gorgeous!

Nice to finally know what those laced markings are called, it was a frizzled white with black lacing in a magazine that actually led to us getting chickens. We just thought it was gorgeous but never till now knew what it was.
