Is there a thread that explains all the abbreviations

there are so many abbreviations on this website, that i get lost or confused a bit. and I know others do also. is thee a lnk or thread to all of them?


I am especially confused by ones about family. I figured out MIL and FIL, but have no idea what DD or DF or DS is. also for some of us not familiar with every breed of chicken it gets confusing to only see things like " My BCM love the OBR and they both went to the PO box ASAP". lol

Would be easier if I had a list to refer to to find out WTH BCM and other abbreviations were.

DS = dear son
DD = dear daughter
DF = dear fiance/e
BCM = black copper marans
OBR = ??

Still figuring out the breed abbreviations myself!

The D in DH/DW/DS/DD can also stand for Dang, not Dear.

On chicken breeds, the one that used to get me was OEGB. That's Old English Gamebird Bantam. Found that out when I found one beside the road in a BUSY business intersection and was asking if anyone knew what she was.

I think EE's are Easter Eggers - the ones that lay the colored eggs. RIR's are Rhode Island Reds. BO's are Buff Orpingtions. That's all I can think of at this moment (I'm VERY tired). But I will tell you that the majority of the people on here are WONDERFUL and EXTREMELY helpful. Don't hesitate to ask in the middle of a thread what something is. The only DUMB question on here is the one you don't ask for fear of being thought of as dumb. A lot of us have been caring for birds for a lot of years and we still learn new stuff every single day.

So, THANKS, for making us aware there is an abbreviation problem out there.


BTW (By the way), it took me FOREVER to figure out the DH, DD, DS, DW's etc.
