It's a shame that people can not find it in their hearts to help. I have always been taught to help others, because you never know when you'll need a favor in return.

Is there a local church that you could call. I know that ours helps those who need a ride and then a member of the congregation takes them to an appointment, to town, etc. Wish I was closer, I'd help you!

In Texas so I can't help but dang if your neighbors don't need to be educated. I'm not best buds with my neighbor but when we came out and found our tire flat and dead as a doornail he was perfectly okay with giving my kids a ride to school. Didn't even hesitate. And of course I'd do the same. That kind of meanness just bugs me. Someone could easily pick you up and let you tag along when they're going into town... no wasted trip at all... surely there's at least one neighbor that goes to town for something? They don't all make their own/recycle TP out there do they?

Here's hoping you find some help soon!! Maybe call up that one that gave you a lift and ask about a trip to the car lot ONLY. If she feels so put upon then she outta jump at the chance to offload you right? Worth a shot maybe.

Try calling the minister at your church instead of members of the congregation. I know I can be shy or reluctant to step up to the plate on something, but when the pastor asks me to do it, it carries a little more weight! IMHO if the minister can't find someone, he's not much of a minister and you don't have much of a church!

OhMyGosh! If we lived close to you, we would of done it no problem. Wouldn't ask for gas or anything like that. I am always willing to help BYC people and people who really need it.....

I am sorry that people won't help. That is just plain rude IMO.

I would be careful posting on Craigslist, esp with all the CRAZY'S out there now a days. I would contact a local Church, they are usually always willing to help.
