Reading situations like this really brings life into perspective. Taking things for granite--I really don't know how fortunate I am, thank you for opening my eyes. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. You sound like a strong willed person and will overcome. I am praying that you will receive the help you need. God works in wonderful ways, and teaches us lessons in so many different ways. God bless you and your family.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. If it weren't for my chickens, I'd probably be able to wait til the weekend, but we're already scrounging around for whatever meals we can make (darn good thing I bought 4-10lb bags of rice last time we went to the store!!!), and there just isn't enough to share with them. They've been eating cereal, oatmeal, and whatever else we can gather for them. Won't be long before the kids and I are digging through the grass and dirt for bugs to feed them, cause we need the eggs they lay, we eat them almost every morning for breakfast! We can't afford for them to stop laying. As it is, I'm down to a bag and a half of rice, about 10 pieces of tilapia (might be less than that now), a couple bags of frozen veggies, and some dry beans and cereal. I need to stock up again until we can get a car. The kids are complaining now cause we had rice yesterday in our lunch, for dinner the night before, and again last night. We already went through 3-10lb bags of potatoes, and several pounds of chicken breasts. We haven't been to the store in about a month now. I know how to make a meal stretch if I have to, and being without a car, I am working doubly hard to make the food stretch, but sometimes I feel like my kids are eating me out of house and home! I thought girls didn't eat as much as boys? Guess someone forgot to tell my kids that! Lol. If we don't have a car by next weekend, I may need a ride again. At this point, Little Americauna Mom, no one here in town will take us to the store or BMV, or anywhere. So if you can take us tomorrow, that would be wonderful. I'll PM you. I swear, this is why I am planting my own garden this year, as well as fruit trees and bushes. I hate being so low on food. Being like this is very stressful! But the thoughts and prayers help so much. Thank you all!
