WHOA!!!!!

What an experience!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to sell your birds to THAT family!!! They probably would not have lasted long! Clearly the parents weren't any better than the daughter.

I agree that you ought to get a restraining order. You shouldn't have any trouble getting the cops to testify for you!

Stay safe!

Anyone else have bad buyers?

That is the BIGGEST understatement ! They were totally off their rockers! Having bad buyers isn't having to call the cops and have them removed in handcuffs.

I, agree, you might check into a restraining order, since he threatened you. Unfortunately, they know where you live and might decide to retaliate.

Hope I NEVER experience anything like that ! So sorry !

Holy wow. I thought this post was going to be about a bad eggbid experience or something.

I have never sold a bird, but if I start selling birds it's going to be hard to do to begin with - sending birds I care about off into the unknown. But to know that completely unhinged phsychos like that show up at people's houses!!! Yikes!

If I sell at all, I think it will be through a breed club or something where I have a chance of knowing something about the person...

There's a restraining order in the hands of a judge right now. Waiting for him to sign it. I have security cameras at my house - oddly enough, to catch my down the street neighbor letting her dog poo in my yard and not picking it up, and I turned them back on last night. I feel safe enough now, but it was creepy while they were there.

I am pressing charges, verbal battery and trespassing, attempted assault and battery charges on the child, hate crime because of some of the things that were said, attempted theft, public disturbance for the part that happened in my driveway, and damage to personal property. (bent door on a cage - I spent a good two hours chasing button quail chicks around the house due to it.)

It's not a good idea to mess with people who work in the legal profession, for lo, we will hit you where it hurts - in the pocketbook and in the public record. I'm a paralegal who has brothers who are cops.

The way I see it, if they are going to retaliate, they are going to do it with or without a restraining order, KWIM? If you have a restraining order, then the police have to remove them ASAP, and take them to jail. And it shows a pattern in case anything happens to your property or birds.

I agree...this is waaay beyond "bad buyers!" I am just glad you are ok!

Shelly

ETA: I guess we were posting at the same time, Spooky! LOL! I am very glad that you have covered all your bases. Way to go!
