Is there anywhere in NorCal that allows roosters?! [Rant]

I am trying to find a house with enough property to raise a few goats and keep my lil flock of 8. I CANNOT find anything within a reasonable distance of where I work that actually allows roosters: not Sutter County, not Yuba County, not Yolo County, not El Dorado County, not Placer County.... We are looking at one house that has almost 2 acres of orchards, nearest neighbor is an acre away, that is zoned residential. Residential = NO ROOSTERS. It's looking more and more like I either need to win the lottery to buy a big ol' farm (I wish) or just euthanize my poor rooster who takes amazing care of his girls and just wants to live his best life. SCREW YOU, CALIFORNIA.

I’m sorry bout this, CAs laws DO suck. I check Tahama and your allowed 20 but no Roos. I know in Shasta your only allowed 6 or 8nand no Roos. Check plumas? Lassen? I know folks in lassen and Shasta that ain’t supposed to have Roos but still do. The only reason you can’t is because of all those damn city slicks. Can’t wait until The State Of Jefferson.

Man, it's frustrating! However, El Dorado is much more roo friendly in certain parts. And parts of Nevada County. We are looking at a ranchette in Nevada County today. 5+ acres. Fingers crossed....

I know that in the mount Vernon, wise road, Atwood road area of Auburn lots of people have roosters and no one ever complains.

We've had our roo in San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties np

Alameda county... no. But I hear them all over, and have seen plenty in Hayward, Newark, San Leandro, Castro Valley, and Livermore. There are still rural areas in Alameda co. where people have them, and even not so rural. Depends on if you can stick it to the law and get away with it and with no one complaining.
