Is there life in these eggs?

These are chicken eggs. Some are bantam and some are Easter eggs (they were green) and then some brown eggs and some white eggs. It was just kind of a mixture the lady gave us. All chicken though. I'll keep you updated!

That's cool. The bantams you may see develop slightly faster. They are known for hatching a day or two early. (Doesn't mean they will, but it's not uncommon.)

Wow you can incubate chicken eggs from the store and they will have life that will hatch into a chicken?? Even after being in a fridge?? I'm mind blown right now.

The chicken eggs are doing good so far. Looks like 8 out of 10 are still alive. I need to get more pictures. And eggs from the store?? Really!! I've heard of it but never tried it!

Most chicken eggs from the store do not hatch. Egg producers do not waste time and money with roosters. Maybe fun to try but be ready to be disappointed.

That's why I was talking about Trader Joes eggs. Specifically the ones marked "fertile"! And my duck eggs are from a mom n pop convenience store from a hobby farm with ducks and drakes free ranging together. I got the idea from the trader joes thread on BYC!

Your 8/ 10 is excellent! I had a puppy vs incubator incident, so I'm down a few!!!

Wisconsin does not have Trader Joe's; at least not that I have heard of. Rats!

Lol, I've been thinking about this for a while now.... Wisconsin must have mom n pop stores that sell local eggs.... Most hobby farms have roos....
I got my eggs that way!!!
