Is there something wrong with my duck's wings? (pictures)

I don't know if anyone told you the trouble is that your bird is folding his wings wrong. It is hard to explain but check a normal bird to see how it should be folded, try to fold the bad wings the same (normal) way and then tape the wing in the normal position. At first it is just a bad habit but if he grows in that position the joints will deform and he will be like that for life.

Yeah, Well I taped them back up into normal position, hes more clumsy than usual ahahaha. Poor guy has a sunburnt nose too, he just started living outside. And his diapers are getting smaller, since he's not full grown still. Poor guy. It's a bad week for him.
And yes he is a muscovy, he's two months young and my beautiful little baby :)

Alicia, I'am SO glad you followed through with EVERYONES advice. That little ducklin will now be spoiled for life and will be your pride and joy because of your attentiveness to his special needs. That's what I love about this web-site is the love and caring we all put into our animals. Last year I spent over $1.000.00 on my Pekin. Thats MONA, the queen. She managed to get a staph infec. in her knee joint. She was only three mo. old. It was either put her down or Surgery. Well I wouldn't even think about putting her down so I had her at the Kansas University Vet. Hospital for three day's. Everyone fell in love with her and she is Happy and Healthy now...She is my baby...Best of Luck..let us know how it turns out PLEASE............. Ray

Isn't this defect genetic

While there does appear to be some birds that are genetically more susceptible, it appears to take certain dietary factors to trigger it. Kind of like some people are genetically susceptible to obesity and type 2 diabetes, but unless you give them a diet high in sugars and carbohydrates, these conditions don't appear and they will be perfectly healthy.

It may be more likely for parents with Angel Wing tendencies to pass it along to their offspring, but the probable cause is diet. Too much junk, too high protein, not enough greens.
