Im just curious. I really doesnt make a difference to me.
I got her about 3 months ago. She was molting, and i was told she is between 2-3 yrs. (It seems like her comb has grown, since ive had her?) Her comb and feet have more color than when i got her. She has started laying well! Her eggs are medium brown...
My concerns with her being a BR are:
1) i wasnt told her breed
2) she seems a bit "mottled"
3) are her legs whiter than "standard"

Thanks in advance!

Thats a pretty girl! I have a Barred Plymouth Rock Hen and my neighbor has a Dominique They love to play confuse the hell out of the owner sometimes haha! You can tell the difference because a barred rock is bigger and much fluffier

The main difference between barred rocks and dominiques is the comb. The Dominique has a rose comb, and a barred rock has a straight comb.

Yours looks like a hatchery stock barred rock hen

Hatchery quality Barred Rock. So a Barred Rock not bred to its true breed standard, a "generic" version.
