We've had backyard chickens for two years and are raising our second batch of chicks this spring (barred rocks that are now ten weeks old). It sounds like we have our first rooster. Somebody keeps trying to crow in the morning, but I can never see who it is. Here's my suspect: bigger, redder comb than the other chicks, much whiter coloration, and more skittish than the rest of the birds. Any opinions?
I live in the city and need to find a new home for the rooster before the neighbors get too annoyed. Is there a way to catch him crowing? My flock is so used to people that they all come running to see me and the kids whenever we go outside...
Thank you!
