It's been red like this for over a monthAnother consideration - when did the redness in the comb and wattle show up? If this is a very recent development, you have a hen that is nearly ready to lay, but if that's been there for a while, that would be evidence pointing toward a roo.

Now you know why we were having trouble trying to figure out which it isI'm at a bit of a lose, the comb and feathers do look a bit cockerelish, but I do agree about the pattern being that of a pullet.
