Is this a Light Brahma?? I hope I'm Wrong!

equibling,

Rural King, a store like Tractor Supply got them from Cackle. They were part of what Rural King told me was straight run heavies. What I think they really were was a hatchery special.

Got a bunch of Easter Eggers, what many hatcheries call Araucanas (Ameraucanas), but the purists say otherwise. Got the Light Brahmas, some black birds I haven't figured out yet, and two undermined white birds.

Supposed to be some pullets and I think the batch was way over 50% cockerels.

Just to hijack the thread a little.....I ordered light Brahmas in my McMurray order and they look just like that photo, I thought they would be more yellow!
I guess they could be buff but they aren't supposed to sex the buffs and I ordered all pullets.
Anyhow, thanks for this thread, I don't know WHAT mine are!

these are my light brahmas at 2 days old

annrich has what light brahmas are suppose to look like....

Mine certainly look nothing like that!! They do have little white wing feathers peeking out.
I will have to take a photo.
I am going to call McMurray too and ask!
I wonder how they will turn out.....

Okay so reading everyones replies I went from Yeah it's not gonna be a Light Brahma Rooster to Oh no its a Light brahma witch means its a rooster back to its not a Light Brahma So come one guys help me out here!

Lets start trying to figure out what else it could be.
If it's not a light brahma is there any kind of Cochin it could be? I know that combs are differn't but right now I can't seem to tell It doesn't look like the Rose combs but not as big as some of the Straight combs either.

Thanks for all the help so far. If it could just be a Light Brahma hen I would be So Happy! Thats Just not gonna happen though.

I have to agree with equibling; absolutely beautiful birds!

Hmm, may have to look into Cackle, if I need to regroup my light brahma herd....though with the problems they've been having....
