I think there may have been an initial pip but it looks like it got smooshed some. Is there blood or something goopy around the cracks?

Yes, it looks like there is blood or something around the crack. There was a hairline crack in the egg yesterday and then the bigger one today.

I don’t have an incubator. I’m not wanting to raise chicks on my own. I’m letting the hen do all the work and let nature take its course. I say that, but I would do anything to save one of the babies within reason.

I was just going to suggest trying to hatch in an incubator and then put back under hen.

If she is sitting on it, give it one more day OR take it out and see if you hear noise or see any movement.

Has it progressed at all today?

She might have been trying to help. I think that if there is no movement or sound it is likely not one that can likely be saved.

She was eating the inside. There were some feathers, but no discernible body and a lot of soupy looking substance. It looks like maybe it stopped developing.
