Is this a Sapphire Gem pullet?

I don't think so as he would need to have both parents BR to be pure and then have pure BR chicks. This BSL cockerel probably only has 1 BR or barred parent. I'm guessing this as I'm still learning the genetics.
If he has single barring, he is probably a BSL. If he has double-barring (more spacing between the black bars), he could be a Barred Rock (the males would carry double barring). I'm guessing that you are correct in your guess that he is a BSL cockerel that snuck through the first gauntlet at the hatchery.

We have this one, who I think is a cockerel. He "could" be from a BR hen and solid roo or a Barred roo (not BR) and who knows what hen.
First pic is 4.5 wks, second is 7.5 wks, third is 11.5 wks. Would you say it's a cockerel?
