99% chance its an Easter Egger if its a hatchery Ameraucana. Way to young to sex just now.

Guaranteed it's an Easter Egger. Ameraucana come in black, blue, splash, white, buff, and lavender/self blue. The ONLY hatchery that sells them is Cackle Hatchery. All others are Easter Eggers. I have 4 varieties from Cackle and love them, they are truly beautiful and expensive. I don't show and don't care, yet these varieties I have are very nice looking too. And that chick looks like a cockerel.
I'd like to add that there is a thread on here somewhere telling the differences between Easter Eggers, Ameraucana's, and Araucana's. All the EE's I used to have were colorful, beautiful, and laid eggs of all shades of green.

Whew! You weren't kidding about Ameraucanas being pricey! But I'd love to have a few black hens, sigh. Talk about chicken math, lol!
LOL Araucana are more expensive!!! And I've been bitten by their bug!
I understand you there. I recently lost over half my flock to a weasel. Including two araucana cockerels I'd just purchased.Oh, I've been bitten long ago! But EE's are the closest I can get for now. I do love my EE's. My flock is fairly secure, but I'm afraid it would be just my luck that it would be the expensive one that would fall prey to a raccoon .... But one day I just may get brave! They are SOOO pretty, and so are the eggs! And then there is the Barnevelder... sigh!
I lost half my flock earlier this year to foxes but all of my barnevelder and almost all my Easter egger survived. I lost all my wyandottes thoughOh, I've been bitten long ago! I thought I saw some red leakage too. Plus he stands like a boy in most of the pics. He also has a wide masculine face, unless it's just the aspect ratio of the pic.No one else sees the red?![]()
