Well the hatch finished today...all 10 made it!! Some serious beginners luck involved there I think.

We had 2 arrive day 18, 5 day 19 and 3 day 20! Just trying to get the last 3 dry...slightly worried they might be a bit sticky but hopefully will dry now the water's all out of the incubator...

Congrats on the great hatch! Bantams do tend to hatch a bit early sometimes, but day 18 is a little early even for them. What were your temps? They may have been a tad high

Thanks! Yes I think i'll try a new thermometer if we go again...temp was reading pretty steady 37.5-37.6 but I guess there could be a calibration issue?

The little guys are so cute!

It definitely might have been a calibration thing I like the digital probe thermometers that they make for reptiles. They are usually quite accurate and they're easy to calibrate with the ice water method to make sure they're reading correctly.

Really happy I saw this post I have 2 lavender orpingtons, and a pock(polish/Cochin) and a full blooded Cochin. 2 smaller eggs are internally pipped, 2 larger eggs look like they are a normal day 17. I’m thinking on my side size played a role bc my polish are very big and my Cochin weighs 15lbs lol and the full blooded Cochin hen weighed 4 lbs she was 9 months and then that 15 lb fat guy again both are internally piped but u calmed my nerves prayers mine are as healthy
