Your feed sounds fine. I think it's just normal feather growth. My boys looked like that when their wings started to feather. Be prepared for the next thing that freaked me out, droopy wings! I nearly lost it when I saw Nacho's wings drooping and then pulling them back up over and over.

..I guess the muscles just need to build up to hold them in place? ok i think I'll maybe take the tape off in the morning

Yes. They have to build up the muscles and get used to the weight of the feathers. All the things we don't know...

I'm pleased to report I took the taping off after just 36 hours and the wing is being held in place
