Is this Barney or Neive?

So this is Barney, or at least that’s what we call him. He’s a Brahma.
My husband sexed him at a day old but as he’s gotten bigger we’ve changed our minds more times than you can possibly imagine.
He’s 4.5 months old.
Can someone please try and confirm we’re right in thinking he’s a cockerel.

Judging by the sickle and hackle feathers, that is a Cockerel.

Those hackle feathers tell me cockerel for sure.

He's a mix, I've never seen a brahma with his colors. I see male saddle feathers coming in, for all that his face doesn't appear to be that red and his wattles don't seem to be developing.

I see saddle and hackle feathers coming in and he has the feather coloring of a cockerel.

Looks like a pullet since there is hardly any comb/wattle development for 4 1/2 months

His dad is an Isabella and mum is pure black.
Thanks guys, that helps, I’m still learning, only had chickens about 9 months.

They are both brahmas though, he’s not a cross breed just crossed colours

this was great information. I always thought I had to wait to see if the chicken crowed or laid a egg, to figure out the sex. Thanks
