Hi,
New to ducks here. I looked through the bumple foot posts and they all had the black scabs. So I wasn't sure if this was. My blue Swedish started limping this afternoon. Too late to get to vet today. I will get her to vet tomorrow. Meanwhile is this bumble foot and can I do anything to help her? The foot and leg is warmer then the other leg and her middle toe is swollen.

Thank you for your help.

I didn't see any redness either. Just the middle toe swelling and warmer then other foot and leg. Here's a picture of top of foot

Gave her a Epsom salt soak. It seemed to help.

Well this morning the legs are the same temperature cool and she's not limping. That middle toe still looks swollen. But since she's not hot or limping I'll hold off on vet visit. Her appetite is good. I just took their morning treat out, spring lettuce, peas and meal worms, she dove in like normal! Hopefully we're all good. I'm so glad it's not bumble and she's not limping today. Thank you for your help

Has she had any problems before? My duck had bumblefoot and I treated it (or so I thought), but I either didn't get it all or it came back. Her foot looked similar to your little duck's, and it also didn't have a scab. She developed a severe limp so I took her into the vet and he diagnosed her with bumblefoot.

I hope that's not what it is, and I'm certainly no expert -- I get all my advice on here! I wish your little babe a speedy recovery, good luck!

She'll be a year end of March this is her first time limping, or any medical issue. What did your vet do/ prescribe?

The vet prescribed some Baytril (0.4mls twice a day for 14 days) and Metacam Oral (1lm a day for 3 days). I have to take her back in Friday for a checkup, and they may have to do surgery if the medicine isn't working as planned.
