So i have been going through threads researching and im getting that if my BR hen was bread by my EE Roo, the chicks will be sex links. Correct? Because a BR hen can only pass the barred gene to her male offspring? I read a few conflicting comments and disagreements so i wasn't for sure, but this was my conclusion. Am i right? The first of 5 hatched today. He/she isn't dry and fluffy yet, but i dont see any indication of a white spot on its head. Still seems to be pretty well solid gun metal grey at the moment.

Since EEs are a hybrid, I don’t believe that’s accurate. If your roo was a RIR or NHR then yea they would be sex linked but idk about EEs.
It doesn't matter if the rooster is a hybrid or mixed breed.
Sex links work because of sex linked genes. Genes are genes regardless of the breed or lack of being a breed that carry them.

It's 12 hours post hatch and no indications of any markings or coloring. Solid silver. The second hatched this morning. It was an EE x BCM. Its solid black with a white neck.

Dried and fluffed. 20 hours old. Will the colors change in a day or so, or is it grey with no white marking. (Pullet?) Does this even look like a typical color of a BSL? It looks to have darker areas in the photos (like black) but it's not. It's strictly grey and silver.

Dad is the EE with no barring. Hes mostly black and red rust tones (his name is rusty). Mom is a Plymouth Barred Rock.

Picture of your EE rooster? The colors usually associated with BSLs are due to the cross that hatcheries use (RIR x barred rock).

I will get him in a few minutes when he roosts and take a picture.

Here's Rusty. Cross ideas?? He looks a bit rough because hes been out in the pouring down rain so he's wet. His neck and saddle feather colors are lighter when dry. But he's definitely not barred.
