is this EE (possibly Ameraucana) a pullet or roo? CONFIRMATION, pg 6!

Oh, uhm, ....... that one's a boy.....

Here is a side view of him. See the silver color on the top of the wings that I asked about before?

If Soleimon has any of this coming in, then I will cry UNCLE, and change my vote to rooster.
This pattern has always, without exception, grown into the handsome wing coloration seen here on my Easter Egger (in this case, crossed Ameraucanas of different color varieties) rooster, Laurant.

On the other hand, can't you just imagine a blue and silver version of Laurant.

If you do have a rooster, i would bet you good money that he is the son of Laurant, with the addition of a blue gene, from either another blue Easter Egger hen, a splash Ameraucana, or from one of my blue Marans hens.

Mystery solved - he's a roo! Spotted those first telltale saddle feathers a couple days ago. After seeing Cacklberrycoop's pics of his daddy (see previous post), I'm really looking forward to seeing how he feathers out. I bet he'll really be something and will continue posting pictures along the way. Don't know about you, but I LOVE following progressions!

Here's Soleimon, about 3.5 months old.

Megan (cackleberrycoop), in the pic below you can see a little bit of that smut on his wing. I can't BELIEVE how much he looks like his bro up there! And the silver hackles and saddle feathers are super reminiscent of Laurant. (ETA: it's hard to see but there is one feather with the silver lacing present in the photo. It's kinda in the middle).

SADDLE FEATHER! Still have to dig for them. I'm guessing they'll emerge in the next week or so.

Megan, here's another pic of the trio, showcasing Esme. Not to rub it in or anything, but her lacing is getting more pronounced and her orange more vibrant! She's also gotten super sweet and hops up for a snuggle when I'm sitting on the porch. Can't wait to see what color eggs she lays

My only wish is that she'd take better care of her beard - she loves playing in the mud and water, so her beard's always a little ratty. I'm thinking of getting one of those little combs for her...

A roo! Oh well! He is BEAUTIFUL! I need to get better at this whole sexing thing. Its weird I am great when it my own birds in Question but horrible when it comes to sexing on here. LOL! Maybe because I get to see their personality and not just a pic.

Well, guess it's time to start watching my up and coming blue Easter Eggers for another pullet for you.

Oh Esme -

I have some pullets from the same hatch as these three (the left over "boring" colored girls that no one else wanted) and I'm starting to get really excited about finding out what their egg colors are. A bit early yet, but I can't help myself

Hope you are high and dry and well away from any of the flooding.

So I got back from my travels to find a chicken I didn't recognize. He's changed so much! These pics don't do him justice - his "silver" is very much golden, and he's got some amazing lacing on his breast.

Does anyone know if his coloration has a name? I can't find anything else like him out there on the internets.

What a pretty Gold Duckwing boy! He'll only get more pretty from here until he fully matures. Lol that boy went from baby to cockerel in 60 seconds! Almost like a teenaged human boy.
