Is this egg fertile?

The hen that laid this had been mounted several times 4 days ago, the roo doesn’t leave her side. She doesn’t like the other chickens using “her” box and occasionally the roo will force other chickens out. I have left the last 3 eggs in the box for her because I think she may be laying fertile eggs, and cracked today’s egg to find out for sure. I’m pretty sure I see a bullseye but my sight isn’t as good as it used to be.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have witnessed breeding then she if for sure fertile.
Thank you Bigtom Turkey. Chickens can choose to reject a roo’s sperm though and eggs may never be fertile even with multiple attempts by the roo.

I appreciate you getting back to me, and so quick too! Thank you 😊

Yes, but the boys will get it done eventually.
Hehehehe boys being boys and all eh? Can’t say I blame my girls, he’s a real head turner my Darren. He knows all the schmexy moves and always bribing them with treats he’s found.

I can’t help myself, here’s my handsome boy. The tiny dark hen standing on the log is the one that laid the egg I posted.

Those will be some gorgeous birds.
Thank you. The hen has a bit of silkie or showgirl in her, she has the comb and a bit of a crest so it will be interesting to see what the chicks would be like. It’s coming onto winter here in Australia and there’s been so much rain. It’s the hen’s first clutch so I’m hopeful and optimistic but still expecting the possibility of things not going great. Fingers crossed though.
