Its possible she's a Dominique, for a fact the Dominiques from Ideal will throw single combs.Between me and a friend we have over 75 Dominique hens.. Around 10% of all eggs that hatch the chicks are single combed..When the single combs are mated together they produce 100% single combs, We call the ones with the single combs Domipeckers

So your Dominiques were from Ideal? I raised dominiques for several years and not one did I ever hatrch a chick with a single comb.
