Is this infected?

Hi I have a friend who sent me these photos of his pet rooster. He says he’s keeping it up a lot and it looks puffed and feels full of water.

I can’t really tell if there is anything there or his feet are just dirty.
Your friend could wash the birds feet, and/or soak them and get them clean. That would help to see if the dark area is anything more.
