My neighbor was getting rid of this "escape artist" chicken and
offered her to me. (His run is electric fenced in with no top)
Before I got there, he said she was a leghorn.. well, she is
definitely no leghorn. I thought Australorp at first because
her egg was the color of my Australorp's eggs... but her legs
are the wrong color.
Is she a Cornish Rock maybe? She has to be a meat bird..
check out those legs! And she LOVES to eat. First thing she
did when I put her in her dog crate was slip slowly out of my
grasp and start eating while half in and half out of the crate.
She is not too skittish and fairly easy to catch.
We named her Lucky..
because she is "Lucky" that he didn't "dispatch" her.
Lucky will be a year old in about 2 weeks.
here she is with the flock.. she is on the bottom right.
