Is this noise my chicken is making bad?

Sounds like she has/had something stuck in her throat.

She is also a lot quieter than normal and is sort of whimpering/wheezing.

Whenever I pet or touch her it sounds like she is whimpering very quietly. She is usually VERY loud. Also, is this an immediate problem or can it wait?

I would agree, that she most likely has something minor stuck in her throat, or inhaled some feed dust. This is not uncommon, and in most cases, the problem resolves itself. That said, I would personally leave her be for now.

If she continues to do this, or starts showing other clinical symptoms. Let us know.

If you're feeding crumbles, switching to a pelleted feed may prevent the problem from happhening again the future.

Okay, thank you. I am feeding a pellet feed, but I have some left over starter feed I left on their coop. That is probably it. Do you think I should take it away?

If it's pretty dusty, yes.

It sounds like a sneeze. Usually when something is stuck in the throat there will be a stridorous sound like this bird:

In the video below at about the 42 second mark, you can hear stridor and a sneeze or snick:

one of my hens was sneezing like that once and it was gone the next day thankfully.
