Is this normal? 3 1/2 week old chicks

I noticed today my chicks necks are becoming bare--no feathers at all. Is this normal? One is pretty bad, but I noticed 2 others having it as well. No blood/don't observe them pecking each other.

Yes, it is pretty normal. They are losing their down and growing in their feathers. It’s an awkward stage.....If you notice any visible injuries, then post pix in the emergency forum for further assistance.

Thanks!! Nervous new momma here! I freaked when I saw it, but like I said, no blood or injury that I can see/acting completely normal. Thanks so much for easing my mind!

My chicks are 3 weeks old and two of them are really being picked on...raw necks, missing down in other areas too. So far there is no blood, but I worry about them. There are about 20 in a large brooder area. I was thinking about moving those two to a "hospital" brooder. Should I put anything on the raw area? They are really red.

Give them all more space.. take them outdoors. They're bored!
