O ya the cold just does not bother my group of monsters they love the snow they play on the ice when the river freezes.Its amazing -20 and they are in the creek like its 85 deg out.

Love the scovy on the frozen pool! The ducks do pretty well on the ice, but the geese slip and slide so much they finally just plop down and lay there a while

It never ceases to amaze me how well they do handle the cold, anytime I look out and think for sure they must be in their house cuddling, nope, running around still searching for bugs and goodies! Can't wait to see what my current flock thinks of a really good snow

he is preening but he is also in the process of a molt which is why his feathers are coming out

All birds molt, from the picture it looks pretty warm still. It would be odd to molt In the middle of winter, but I'm not sure what you have qualifies as winter for a duck.

Very true, we are in southern California, just wasnt sure if this was normal for a male, thank you!
