That is one of the most stunning and professional level photos I've seen around these parts in years. You need to submit this one to the calendar committee.

Oh wow, really? I’m so flattered, thank you! It’s a cell phone photo, I don’t know if it can compete with the nice, crisp professional camera pictures that people submit, but it doesn’t hurt to try so I’ll give it a shot!

Good! Some cell phones can take high quality photos if they can generate enough pixals. It will be up to the committee to determine if your photos have those pixals, but I zoomed on your pic, and the focus held up to my questionable scrutiny.

But, you should take more chicken photos because you have a natural talent for composition.

Thank you! I'm a visual artist by training and by trade, and did photography as a hobby for a while, but my semi-professional camera broke after many years of faithful service, and I can't afford to replace it anymore, so now I'm stuck with either a crappy camera or my phone... and just use the phone because it's more convenient. I enjoy photographing the chickens and catching cute moments, and yes composition goes a really long way. I'll try the photo and maybe look for a couple of others to submit as well, and whatever happens happens. And hopefully some day I can have a real camera again, and take proper pictures that actually end up in the calendar
