You say Soulja Boy-I say Alice in Chains. You say Taylor Swift-I say Led Zeppelin. You say T-Pain-I say Nirvana. You say Lil Wayne-I say Guns N' Roses. You say Lady Gaga-I say Iron Maiden. You say Hip Hop-I say Heavy Metal! You say Pop, I SCREAM Hard Rock! You say Hannah Montana-I hit you in the face! :p

I found this chain thing on a youtube comment, then I changed it up a little bit, and posted it on my status on Facebook. Its just a joke, I am pretty open to other types of music [I suffered through listening to 'Korn' while in the car with my sister and her husband without saying anything] and would NOT argue with someone over something like music, and would NOT hit someone in the face if they liked Hannah Montana. Its just a joke. One of my ''friends'' [he's not a close friend, but he is in our church's youth group, and is typically a funny, easy going guy] found it offensive, and said it hurt his feelings, and that I am dissing what music other people like, and am being picky. I don't see how he didn't see it as a joke, and I think he's being really ridiculous and lame, what do you guys think?

It's my guess that you will experience situations like this for the rest of your life. Just check yourself (or your intended "audience") before opening your mouth, then don't be upset if someone doesn't "get" you. Don't fret, it's a complete waste of time and it will make you doubt everything about yourself.

Hmmm, as a Believer, I will say its offensive.
Be careful how you conduct your life, as the things that involve your time, are your witness, whether you like it or not.

honestly, now days it seems like people LOOK for something to be offended about.
If they state their opinion, it's freedom of speech.
If you state your opinion, you're closed minded.

AMEN!!! Thank you for putting exactly what I was thinking in such a perfect way. Hope you dont mind if I use that in reply to others who seem to think their opinion is the only one that freedom of speech applies to!!

OP- Honestly, sometimes, even a joke of physical violence can be intimidating. I wouldnt want my daughter to post or say that, the hitting part- the rest was fine (and funny)
I dont think anyone should get that upset though- as one of the posters on this site has in their tag line-

"If you are easily offended by something on the internet, maybe the internet isnt for you" Taking poetic license here, but I think I got that pretty close to right. I love that signature line!!

Joke or no, you've got just as much right to say what flavor you like as anyone else... now if you had posted that on someone else's page... perhaps after they had rhapsodized about how much they love one of the artists mentioned... well THEN I could see that as being a cranky attackish type thing... but posting it in your OWN status... not at all.
