Tilly, Phebe, and Rose all love to jump on the heat plate. Should I be worried they might jump out? I tried a window screen but it was too big.

what do yall use to inclose them?

( P.S please please please gon in search and type, little chick-y baby mama and check out my threads!!!!)

We did a mix of cardboard and hardwire cloth on top of our brooder last year once’s they were flying up and out of it (which was way earlier than I expected. Little buggers figured out hot to get o too their watered and fly out)

Your chicks are adorable!

Keep an eye on them--they may be able to jump out sooner than you expect! :) It looks like you have your brooder raised in the air--I might set it on the ground until you cover it, just to make sure none jump up and out from a significant height.

Using a scrap piece of hardware cloth bent over the sides of the tub can be a quick fix--just watch out for your fingers and make sure it's out of reach of the chicks--the cut ends of the wire are sharp!
