Is this poo normal? *Pictures*

They've been in the garage since I got them about a month ago. I just bought the wormer tonight so I plan on doing that tonight before dark. Does it take two applications or is one good enough?

But I'll try to keep them in quarantine anyways.

Well, there we go. They're all dosed and sleeping. Are they going to act sick, kind of like a person does on chemo therapy? They seem to act healthy and scratch and dig and do all that stuff around the garage. I just hope they don't get all sick because I'll feel bad for doing it to them (I know it might be better for them in the long run, but I'll still feel bad).

I trust all the advice I'm getting, but I have a question. The back of the SafeGuard for Goats bottle says, for example, a 25lb. goat's dose is 0.6ml. Why would a much smaller animal, like a chicken, get a much bigger dose?

Not sure why goats, horses, cattle, dogs, cats , etc get 5-10mg/kg and chickens get so much more, that used to freak me out, too, but since I bought the book, I'm much more comfortable giving medications. Baytril is another one... cats never get more than 5mg/kg (can cause blindness), but chickens get 15-20mg/kg. If you ever want to see any of the pages, for any med, just let me know and I can take pics of the dosing, warnings, drug interactions, etc.

Your. chickens will not show any ill effects from the wormer.

Good, I"m glad they will still be okay.

And thank you! I'll have to remember that!
What book did you read all that information from? I have a few chicken books I got from Tractor Supply. I have "The Joy of Keeping Chickens" and "Storey's Guide to Keeping Chickens." I just got the last one, but it looks really informative. :)

It depends on the metabolism of the animal.
