Thanks. I am in Melbourne Australia. I managed to take couple of better pictures of Esmeralda. It looks she has those brown fluffy feathers, the new feathers are lovely black/green and the color on her head is really copper red. I think she is going to be good looking chook.

I seriously think she is purebred. Her body type is a bit off, but that's a pretty common occurrence. I see no trait about her that pushes me to think she's a mix

I decided that Esmeralda need a friend. My other girls all hang around with their bestie, and she was on her own. So we got Ramona. I think she is the most gorgeous Marans. She is also huge; when I 1st saw her sitting in large dog crate at the breeder's place, I thought it's a turkey. But she is so sweet, and bonded with Esmeralda.

Yes, Black Silver Birchen, but I only realizes that few days ago. I did not know there was such a thing. LOL When the breeder sent me photos of some pullets she has available, I spotted her and loved her, and got her.
