Is this really a barred rock?

It is about 3 weeks old, and it's legs are very dark. I bought it from a hatchery, so I wouldn't think it was a mix,then again, I don't know much yet!

Looks like it *could be* a Black Australorp. They have that color of leg and well...they are black!

Thanks everyone! It looks like none of the chicks are turning out to be what they are supposed to be!!! As long as they are calm and don't mind being city chickens, we're happy to have them.

Being as it's from a hatchery, don't put too much faith in things like leg colour. Is there a white spot on its head?

She does have a spot on her head. Her legs started much more yellow, and suddenly they are very dark. Here is a picture from her first day home.

Then yes, she is probably a barred rock--just not of exhibition quality.
