Is this roo a Americana or Arocona or ??

The second picture are EE hens. Grey legs, pea comb....but the roo above not sure. If you got the "Ameraucana" at a feed store they are most likely EE's. They advertise as Ameraucana but they are really a mix breed resulting in an EE chick.

You can't miss a pure bread Auracana with the tufts coming out each side of the face. They definately aren't Araucana

edited to say... that is definately the third eyelid in the picture of the roo. I have some pictures with that also.

You caught the photo just as he was nictitating. All birds have a third, semi-clear membrane under their eye (the nictitating membrane) that they use to keep the dust out without completely impairing their vision.

cool, eh?

well the male and female offspring are definitely EE...those colors aren't standard in Ameraucanas.

the original male does have the coloration of a Wheaten Ameraucana as far as i can tell.....?

where is Jean 'the Ameraucana Police' when you need her?

pips&peeps :

Can you post a closer picture? One that shows his pattern better and his leg color.

Where did you get him from?

Here is a pic of one of the females feet that came from him - I don't have a pic of his on the computer but they look the same
