I either keep my yap shut or I speak my mind so I'm not generally received well in the south where everyone puts on a face and spoon feeds you sugar coated jabs.

Mmmmm I think some are genuine and some are between the lines. Ie "bless your heart" sounds nice but often wasn't very nice from my experience.

I only use that to imply that someone is pitifully stupid, and "have the day you deserve" that's my favorite.

But I do LOVE a good southernism. "You like a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" why say "nervous" when you could use 15 extra words?!

Facts. I can't drive out of my small town without waving goodbye to all the neighbors, pedestrians, tractor drivers, and horse riders. Drivers get the two fingers up from the wheel half wave.

I hate it, gives people the false impression that we're friends, they think they can just park their tractors on my lawn and honk in my driveway til I drop what I'm going and come out to socialize. I don't have the energy for the south, Alaska is mad appealing.
