I either keep my yap shut or I speak my mind so I'm not generally received well in the south where everyone puts on a face and spoon feeds you sugar coated jabs.

Mmmmm I think some are genuine and some are between the lines. Ie "bless your heart" sounds nice but often wasn't very nice from my experience.perhaps you're not reading between the lines...
Or maybe it's just my crippling anxiety
I only use that to imply that someone is pitifully stupid, and "have the day you deserve" that's my favorite.

I've heard "bless your heart" with so much venom that I thought I was bitten by a snake. I probably deserved it though
Most of the southernisms I know are not BYC safe
I hate it, gives people the false impression that we're friends, they think they can just park their tractors on my lawn and honk in my driveway til I drop what I'm going and come out to socialize. I don't have the energy for the south, Alaska is mad appealing.
