I hate it, gives people the false impression that we're friends, they think they can just park their tractors on my lawn and honk in my driveway til I drop what I'm going and come out to socialize. I don't have the energy for the south, Alaska is mad appealing.
I'd love to visit Alaska. I think I'd have instant seasonal depression

Mmmmm I think some are genuine and some are between the lines. Ie "bless your heart" sounds nice but often wasn't very nice from my experience.
I had a customer swear at me under their breathe me once while I was working. My reply was "Same to you, have a nice day!" They reported me to my manager.

My manager looked at the surveillance and told the customer, "I don't hear any swearing, what did she say." The customer just said, "Oh, nevermind I misheard her."

Kill them with kindness with a twist, lol.

i’ll take the south over Alaska any day. The winters alone are a deal breaker. Not to mention the state bird (the mosquito), the Devil’s Club, the bears, the moose (who kill more people than the bears do), and lack of fresh produce in the winter…It is a lovely place to visit but it takes a very specific kind of person to live up there.

I'm self aware enough to know that I would not fare well through an Alaskan winter😂. I find the lack of people to bother me and the lovely summer weather to be the most attractive aspects of living in southerm Alaska. I'd definitely return to the south from September-March.
