That is a young little cockerel, sorry. A hen would be shaped like a ball and he is very tall.

Not sure of breed yet thinking its a silky- cockerel, not sure of age or sex?? My husband brought it home today and somebody left it on the side of the road in a small gross cage "for free"had to save it! I currently have it quarantined and I don't believe that it's fully feathered any help would be greatly appreciated!

I thought he was the minute the guy at the farm store pulled him out of the brooder, because he was this tiny feisty thing and he peeped the whole night on the first night we had him, but that was just a guess.
