Is this size brooder OK?

    Would a 4ft x 3ft, 2ft high brooder be good for 6 chicks until 8 weeks old?

As long as they are not meat birds, that will work out just fine. Eight weeks may be pushing it though.

Well, how long before they can move out to the coop? When are they usually fully feathered? I'm getting them end of Feb. 6 RIRs. Thanks!

When you can move them out depends on the weather really. They should be ready to go out at 8 weeks no problem, but I kick mine out pretty early but add a heat lamp. They can stay in your brooder for 2 months, just have to clean it a lot more since they will be bigger.

I guess I'll see how it goes, weatherwise, then. I'll start with the 3x4. That at least seems reasonable, lol. If the weather is nice by mid April, I'll move them early. We have been having pretty warm springs here for the past 5 years or so. Hope it's the same this year! Thanks for your help, I'm off to Lowes.
