Our biggest Pekin seems to be drooping one wing, not sure if it’s angel wing or something that happened in the fox attack. We didn’t notice but who knows. If so what should I do?

I have read (perhaps on here) to bandage the wings in the correct position. Also to reduce protein intake to 16 percent max. I was able to get some poultry grower/finisher crumbles that is 15 percent. Should I switch to this for a while vs my 18 percent flock raiser? It’s just my big guy that has the issue as far as I can tell.

I wouldnt, i agree reducing protein is good but 2% is not a huge amount, probably not worth your time. You could switch to 2 or 3 feedings a day to reduce their intake.

I’ll so here’s a question, if too much protein causes issues like angel wing, pigeon toes and excessive growth why am I feeding ducklings high protein food? Wouldn’t a 16ish percent good be better choice? Assuming I’m raising pets not meat birds? Would it be bad to let them develop a little slower or smaller?
These particular ducks were on 20 percent purina for the first 5 weeks or so, now are on 18 percent flock raiser and are 9-10 weeks. (I’d have to look at a calendar)

Flock raiser is excellent feed for them to be on and they can stay on it forever. All you need to do is put out oyster shell for layers. If you can get a picture from the back so we can see if the wing is sticking out? Angel wing can also be hereditary and most likely most of the cause.

I’ll get pictures when I return from work!

You right some say protein others say genetic I tend to think genetic. I have raised many ducklings on Purina flock raiser and have never had angel wing in my flock
