A GOLD Coast chicken has laid an egg that may not be golden, but would win a gold medal in any egg-laying competition.

The chicken in question laid an egg weighing a massive 109.3 grams, much to the delight of his owner, 10-year-old Worongary youngster Nicholas Hamilton.
